Meet Sister Paukstys
From a Virginia French Immersion classroom to the streets of Seattle.
Sister Paukstys has been speaking French since elementary school, when she began in a French Immersion program, and she has gone on to take more than 10 years of French in school. What started as a classroom adventure became a lifelong love of the language and the people who speak it.
On November 18, 2026, she begins an 18-month mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Washington Seattle Mission, assigned to serve French speakers.
